Cyber Threats are increasing daily and healthcare is a primary target.  Our objectives for this event are:

  1. Update from law enforcement regarding the current threats and events in Maryland and beyond.  
  2. Discuss best practices for threat prevention and detection.
  3. Discuss necessary steps to ensure your infrastructure supports full recovery in the event of an attack.
  4. Discussion panel with our speakers and Darren Lacey, Chief Information Security Officer, Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine

Guest Speakers:

Michael Dickson, Technical Staff Assistant - United States Secret Service

Mr. Dickson has been employed by the United States Secret Service for 18 years. He was assigned to the Baltimore Field Office and headed the Maryland Electronic Crimes Task Force (MECTF) which assisted numerous corporate, financial, academic, and law enforcement agencies in the investigation and mitigation of various cyber related incidents within the state. He served in the Criminal Investigative Division-Cyber Intelligence Section which coordinates the investigation of transnational high-level Russian speaking non-state cyber threat actors and assists the field offices with cyber related issues regarding their local investigations. He was also assigned as the USSS representative to the ICCOG (International Cyber-Crime Operational Group) and Five I’s coalition. Mr. Dickson is currently the supervisor to the Baltimore Field Office - Maryland Cyber Fraud Task Force.

 

 

 

Andy Stone, Chief Technology Officer-Americas, Pure Storage

Andy Stone joined Pure Storage in April 2019 as CTO – Americas.  Prior to joining Pure, Andy worked at PwC for three and a half years as US and Global Chief Technology Officer and Global Head of Security Technology and Engineering supporting the Firm’s 160 global territories and nearly 300,000 users.  Prior to PwC, Andy was the Farmers CISO and Global Head of Security Engineering, Architecture, Technology and Strategy for Zurich Insurance where he was responsible for a global security transformation across 140+ countries, which included modernizing the entire security organization across people, process and technologies. 

Finally, in his consulting past with Accenture, Andy led the creation of a number of security offerings including Identity and Access Management and Application Security.  Andy also led the Power of 3 security alliance between Accenture, Avanade and Microsoft.  Andy has patents for solutions developed in the information security space. 

 

Troy Ament, Chief Information Security Officer for Healthcare, Fortinet

Troy Ament – Fortinet Field CISO for Healthcare brings more than 20 years of experience to Fortinet transforming information technology and security programs, with 14 years in the healthcare sector as an executive overseeing clinical technology implementations.

Before joining Fortinet, Troy held the positions of Chief Information Security Officer at Beaumont Health and Director, Chief Information Security Officer at Sanford Health where he had oversight of the Security Technology, Security Operations, Identity and Access Management, and Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) Teams.

Troy has been instrumental in forming multiple healthcare cyber security boards that focus on the medical device and IoT security and national healthcare cyber security task forces and engaging the education sector to produce more healthcare cyber security graduates and professionals. Troy has extensive public speaking experience at multiple national and regional conferences, speaking to members of congress, senate, and government agencies educating and advocating for healthcare cyber security.

 

Darren Lacey, Chief Information Security Officer, Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine

Darren Lacey has been Chief Information Security Officer at Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine for the past eighteen years. He was the first Executive Director of the Johns Hopkins University Information Security Institute, a National Security Agency Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance.
